What is the Readerboard?
The readerboard is a two-sided display to share relevant information about nonprofit organizations and community events. The readerboard is not for commercial use.
There are two sides.
One side (Side A) faces southwest, which is viewed heading towards downtown Port Townsend.
The other side (Side B) faces northeast, which is viewed heading towards Castle Hill from downtown Port Townsend.
You can rent either one side or both sides.
Who can use the Readerboard?
Non-profit organizations and community event organizers within Jefferson County.
Commercial business advertisements, political groups campaigning, or philosophical or religious messages are not allowed.
Advertisements for organizations or events that are not open to the public are not allowed.
If I am a commercial business hosting a free community event may I post?
Yes!
If I am an individual having an event in a community space may I post an event?
Most likely, if the event/content fits the guidelines mentioned on this page.
If I would like to post a personal message on the Readerboard, is that allowed?
The leaderboard display is for sharing nonprofit organizations and community events.
Personal messages, items for sale, or philosophical, political, or religious messages are not permitted.
How do I make a reservation?
Reservations are made online and require payment in order to confirm.
Reservations are first come first serve.
Available weeks are reflected on the calendar page.
What if I can’t pay online?
If paying by cash, check, or other non-digital form, please come into Key City Public Theatre’s box office during business hours and speak with our Audience Services Manager.
What if the week I want is not available?
You should sign up for the waitlist, and you will be contacted if there is a cancellation.
May I reserve the Readerboard for more than one week?
Events are limited to one week, email if you would like your event to be considered for a second week. Depending on availability your request may be accommodated.
Organization and community organizers may rent multiple weeks in a year for different events.
May I rent a partial week?
Reservations are available for one-week increments only.
When does the week I book start?
Reservation weeks run Monday through Sunday.
When is the Readerboard updated?
Your content will be posted either the Sunday evening before the week you booked or the Monday morning of your week.
How will I know when my Readerboard reservation has been approved?
You will receive a confirmation email when your readerboard reservation/payment is received. You will only be contacted via email regarding your content, if there is an issue. i.e. spelling errors, grammar, etc., otherwise your content will be posted as submitted.
How much does promoting on the Readerboard cost?
Flat rate fee
$100 for one side
$200 for both sides
You may reserve one side or both.
What if my event is already posted on the Readerboard and I realize the information I sent was incorrect?
Notify us via email at jeffcopromo@kcpt.co as soon as possible, and we will correct it. Any updates to the readerdboard will incur a $30.00 change fee.
What if I don’t know the content when booking or would like to change the content for an existing reservation?
Feel free to book the Readerboard for the week you would like, and write TBD in each field if you don’t know the content.
To provide or update content please send updated content to jeffcopromo@kcpt.co one week prior to the week you booked.
What if I paid for a reservation and my content is not approved?
We recommend you review all content guidelines before making your purchase.
We will work with you to amend the content to fit the guidelines or we will offer a refund.
What if I paid for a reservation and my event got canceled?
You may cancel your reservation without a cancellation fee up to one month prior to your reservation date.
Cancellations within one to three weeks will incur a 50% cancellation fee, or a 100% credit to another use.
Cancellations within the week of reservations are not refundable.
What are the guidelines for the Readerboard content?
5 lines of 18 characters per line.
Spaces count as characters.
Content is subject to approval
What characters/symbols are available to use?
All characters and symbols are black on a white background.
In addition to the full English alphabet, the following characters are available; 0-9 & - / , ! . @ : $ ¢ % ? “ ‘
